so i did this project last year..called...sketchbook project 2011.

they send u a little sketchbook with a theme..i'm sorry i forgot you.. (that i chose) and

i get to fill it up with whatever. then i send it back to them and it tours around (tour dates).

i unfortunately was at a "block" in my creativity and also..as you'll see..

mega depressed. i didn't get to finish it..but here is what i did get to do..

hello. i made this book sometime last year.

i'm sure by looking you can see who it was made for.

le sigh. <3

i had to ask for the book back..

but i think once i'm done taking photos i might possibly give it back.

it wasn't meant for me...

anyways...i really like this book..

and i was kind of sad not to finish it.

i just didn't feel inspired anymore.

and i felt the work went unappreciated.

there are some really personal things in here...

i didn't think i'd post certain pages..

but then i got over it.

the book is made from a recycled book..
i took it apart and then added my own page clusters.
everything is hand sewn..drawn..painted..etc..

i hope you enjoy it..

it's tattoooo time.
im getting a strawberry vine..plant thing on my shin.
it's going to be amazing.
the original idea came from this spoke card on my bike.
and now it has developed from that into botanical drawings.
the strawbs are going to form a heart...

and this is the shape and form we're going with.
it fits my leg perfectly. roots and all.

so i had this concept for a book. people and their keys.
this is a little prototype if you will.
i had it bound at kinkos. hah.
anyhow, the top section is the person and the bottom section is their keys.
you can mix and match it you want.
the last girl didn't have keys.
i never figured out exactly how i wanted the cover and back to look.
i guess that's why it was never completed.
also i prob made this..errr...about 6 years ago?

so in january the world decided i needed pneumonia.
it was (not) awesome. guess that's what i get for riding
my bike through the rain. eep. anyways i had a lot of
time in my room to make things. so this year (as well as last)
i made my own valentines...here is the outcome..

2 batches of valentines made out of old multiplication flash cards,
thread and lined paper.

i made his robot/spaceship/awesome notebook for mister B. Showers.
i made it with existing clippings i had saved in a shoe box under my bed.
the paper filling the inside is a bunch of dif kinds of paper i had lying around.
those were sewn/glued in along w/ some more robot photos.

hello. i finally completed this book. i started working on it months ago.

i made it for my best friend ester. i wanted to have it to her for her birth in sept, but that
didn't happen so she received it for christmakkuh.
i didn't realize (for some reason) that ONLY sewing a book together would take forever.
i got many needle pricks and blisters. thimbles are an amazing invention though.
no glue or tape was used in the making of the pages of the book.
here are the pages below...

this page below is one of my faves. i love the picture of the girl holding her neck
im also real into that hat.

plastic wrap bows. mmmmm...

those shoes rule...

i have a weird obsession with letter stencils. i had to add some in this book.
i also own those ghost salt and pep shakers..thanks to ester...
also those yellow/orange (to save an argument) shoes..mmm..

im into this creepy shaped dress...

the biggest murderer of all..ET. this trading card says nothing but.. "creepy."
i love him.

it took me a little while to figure out how to exactly bring this book to an end.
however when i stumbled across this empty road clipping i knew right then
what the last page would look like. page number 46.

"Von Doom" is a celebration of heavy-metal inspired art with a focus on image-makers of the current metal scene. This exhibition, on display during October, brings together a variety of artists hailing from places as far away as the U.K. and Australia.

The collection in the front room gallery will focus on drawings and prints in various degrees of brutality, un-holiness and gore. Much of the art on display can be found again as album art, tour posters and t-shirts.

The backroom will harbor a large-scale installation conceived and created by two San Francisco local metal headz.

Inspired by San Francisco's own "Hell-o-ween" Black Metal Festival, this show is an ode to the music that spawns cross eyed goat heads, summons the apocalypse and paints itself in corpse paint. Nothing is sacred - all is doom.

i didn't get to go to any of the films, but i did get to go to the Joyride art shows..

i also enjoy plastic hair clips.
i own probably 500+? yeah..
so i figured i could spare a few for this first piece..
came out pretty cool if you ask me.
i thought getting the shape of the heart would be diff..

i have a collection of random keys.
i had used some on a book i made, but still had plenty left over.
here is where they went..and guess what? i still have some left..self-explanatory.

the first two were used in a movie some people in SF were filming.
im too lazy to look up the name of the movie, but it should be cool to see my stuff.
the prop stylist told me my things were used in a major shot. Ooo..

Hello. So this weekend is my Momma's birth and last weekend was Kahim's.
I made them both sketch/notebooks! ahh!
this top one is the one i am going to send my mom.
i made it by ripping a book cover off another book
and putting vinyl material over it.
I also made/sewed a new spine to allow more pages to fit inside.
weee.

this sketchbook i made fore Kahim.
i forgot to take proper pictures before i gave it to him. i apologize.
anyways, i made this one with, again, an existing book cover.
i also sewed on a new spine and put all sorts of different papers inside.
clearly the cover and back cover were made with beer labels.

im in the process of making more.
i want to try and sell them. ooo.
also, are you one of those people that peels labels?
well save them for me if you remember...hmph.

well, if you don't... refresh your mem..
i got a chance to "fix" it up.. the keys on the front kept falling off..
and i needed to add sheets of vellum between some of the pages..
they kept sticking and it was ruining shit..
as much as i wanted to ADD more stuff to the book..i didn't. (well, just one thing...)
i kept it to the original, but just wanted to preserve it better....
i ended up sewing together a sleeve for it. it's pretty cool. i likes.

it's just a part time job, but im pretty excited.
i'll be working at community thrift in the clothing department.

today has been a pretty productive day i'd have to say.
my mood has been pretty steady and my brain hasn't exploded.
i woke up at a decent time, ran errands, applied to some jobs and arts+crafted.
here is one of the products of arts + crafts.
pbr labels, old piece of wood from my deck and RESIN.
i fucking love resin.
the first place i went to only had $80 tubs of resin.
uhh negtron..then i found some for MUCH cheaper at the second place i went to.
i've always been under the impression that resin smelled super bad!
of course i did it outside, but it didn't smell..just a TINY bit. hm.
anyhow, i want to resinate everything now!! ahhh.

hello. this is a book i put together for my amazing friend joe.
it is mainly compiled of his photographs and random clippings.

i made this last year for his birth..which is in october.
i just recently (yesterday) had the chance to take some photos of the book.
enjoy.

i cut a book in half and then sewed it back together...
and used some elastic to keep the book closed...

i woke up last tuesday morning and just took off.
i had to get the fuck out of sf.
some stupid shit could've happened..
but i left before it was possible..
don't worry..

i ended up going to la.
hung out with ester and had an "oo crew" reunion.
we feasted on home made pizzas and bread pudding.

then i headed to joshua tree to visit my parental unit.
that was cool. i hadn't seen them for a minute.
i went thrifting with my mom and rode bikes with my dad.

i also started a new book..
this one will take a couple of months i'm thinking..
i'm stitching everything into the book..no tape or glue..

i have completed another book. this one took ALMOST a month.
i am super excited with the final results. i made it for my friend chad.
i gave it to him last night after i picked him up from the airport.
he was half awake. i was too excited to wait to give it to him though..

the book is created from an existing book that i ripped apart.
i separated all the pages..and then once each one was completed i sewed 2 pages together..
then for the cover/back, i peeled the photo/images off and i
ripped the original spine out and used a ribbon to widen the spine..
after that i began to sew each set of pages in, but then i got over that..
i decided to just hot glue them in..worked perf.

shall we begin...?

the area that is covered with shit is the only open space i have.
i've been tip toeing around for a couple days.
the space next to the scissors..is where my sweet butt sits..
im working on a book that is pretty epic.
i haven't felt this inspired in a looooong while.
it'll be finished in a couple days..

today ericca and i went swimming.
it was freeezzzing cold outside, but luckily we
were invited to go swimming at an indoor pool.
the smell of chlorine has never smelled so good.

sooo i love baseball.
i got tickets for the giant's second game of the season!!
randy johnson pitched. sweeeet.
of course though, the game i go to..they lose. oh well.
they won their opening day game and yesterday's game!

All the pages are in order. I made this book last year.

in october my amazing friend diane ventured out from NY.

my friends and i went to jack's to karaoke.
then a tiny after party at my house occurred..

le sigh.
but other than that i had so much fun.

sleep over time!
ericca and i ventured to novato to hang out w/ the shaun at his mom's house.
it was pretty fucking fun.
we arrived to a dark, long ass driveway and..
couldn't find the front door..
then tried to say "hello" to Red the dog..to find her brawling with a vicious racoon.
she's alright..don't worry. she's a fighter!
then we made and ate snacks and baked a corn bread cake!
jessica brought us eggs for the cake. yay. then she hung out and..
showed us her banana lips..
theeen we made a sleep over bed and watched..
mister lonely and e.t.
mister lonely was...um interesting...
i love e.t but i fell asleep about 30 mins in and woke up at the credits....
aw. then we awoke and shaun took us on a scenic route of novato..
and then he made us omelettes. yeummy.
then we headed back to SF...
and then i turned 26 at 2:48pm..
happy birth to me.

but really, after countless texts and calls..
we realized there was no hope in us going out..
we had even gotten ready and everything..
so we decided to go to foodco at around 1130pm..
